From Vienna, with Venezuela · Earthquakes of June 24
What Venezuela is going through hurts us deeply, and we want to do something to help.
We want to make a humanitarian shipment from Vienna to Venezuela possible.
We are part of the Venezuelan and Latin American community in Vienna. After the earthquakes of June 24 in Caracas, La Guaira and other parts of the country, we are activating a solidarity campaign to evaluate, together, whether it is possible to send humanitarian aid from Austria to Venezuela.
In this first phase, we want to measure the response of the community, gather support and understand how each person, family, business or organization can get involved. If you want to help, we ask you to join this campaign and contact us so we can learn how you can collaborate.
Venezuela is going through a difficult time. From Vienna, many of us feel the need to do something. This campaign comes from that feeling: the desire to help, even though we are far away.
Over the next few days, we want to gather support, products, volunteers and the necessary conditions to make a humanitarian shipment possible. Our initial goal is to fill a 40-foot container. We begin with that hope and that goal; if it is not possible, we will evaluate sending a 20-foot container. And if we still do not collect enough, we will look for alternatives such as sending pallets in shared containers.
We are confident that, with the help of the community, we will be able to move forward and bring support to those who need it most.
More about what happened, in the press:
What we want to achieve
What we want to achieve
To collect useful and safe aid from Vienna for those who need it most in Venezuela: hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes, children’s homes, churches, community kitchens, foundations and affected families, through responsible organizations. We want to do this transparently and in an organized way, so that every contribution arrives in good condition and reaches the right hands.
We are in the evaluation phase
We are in the evaluation phase
We are evaluating the possibility of making a shipment from Vienna, with an estimated departure on July 9 and an approximate arrival in La Guaira around mid-August, followed by transport to Caracas or to the receiving institutions.
We know that help is needed immediately. We also understand that one month can feel like a long time, especially in an emergency. However, for logistical reasons, including collection, sorting, packing, transportation and documentation, a responsible shipment cannot be arranged from one day to the next.
We also know something important: when this situation is no longer in the headlines, many people will still need support. That is why we want to organize this aid seriously, so that it arrives in a useful, safe and responsible way.
The logistics route is still being evaluated and will depend on the quantities we are able to collect, the permits, the documentation and the real shipping conditions. None of this is confirmed yet.
What we are evaluating
- Community support and the amount of suitable products
- Funds for packaging, boxes, pallets, transport and logistics
- Volunteers to receive, sort and prepare donations
- Required documentation and permits
- A responsible foundation or organization to receive and distribute the aid in Venezuela

What is better not to send
For the well-being of those who receive the aid.
Some things, even when they come from the heart, can cause harm or get stuck at customs. To help the aid arrive safely, please do not include these items.

In the next few days, we will organize solidarity events where you can come by to donate, learn more about the campaign and join the effort. We will announce dates and locations on our Instagram. Follow us to stay informed.
Funds will also be needed

Beyond product donations, sending a container involves costs: packaging, boxes, pallets, transport and logistics, as well as buying priority products that do not arrive as donations. We are preparing a transparent way for people who would like to contribute financially. We will enable it soon and announce it here and on our social media channels.
We will do this carefully and with clear accountability
We will do this carefully and with clear accountability
If the shipment goes ahead, we want every person who helped to be able to trust that their contribution arrived. That is why, as we move forward, we will:
- Sort and register what is received, carefully
- Keep a list of what goes into each box
- Share how everything is progressing: what has been collected, and whether the shipment is confirmed or not
- Show, if the container is shipped, evidence of its journey and of the delivery in Venezuela
And if at any point we see that the shipment cannot be carried out responsibly, we will say so transparently and look for another way for the collected aid to reach a good destination.
Important notice
This is a campaign in evaluation. We are measuring whether, together, we can gather what is needed for a responsible shipment. The container will only be confirmed if it can be carried out properly. We will always act transparently.
Distance does not make us indifferent. We are deeply moved by the people who were trapped under the rubble, by those who lost their homes and by so many families who are facing a very difficult situation today.
We want to do what is within our reach to help. We know that help is needed now, but we also know that, when this emergency is no longer in the headlines, many people will still need support. That is why we want to organize ourselves properly, so that our aid arrives responsibly and at a time when it will still be needed.
Join us. Let’s see together how far we can go for Venezuela.
